Deep Space Nine

DS9 might just be my favourite Star Trek series!

Deep Space Nine was a huge experiment for the Star Trek franchise in more ways than one. It was a spin-off from The Next Generation, and began airing alongside that show. It was an expansion of Star Trek rather than a replacement, in that sense. It also took the tried and tested formula of exploring space on a moving starship and tossed it aside, being set on a space station. It expanded its cast with some fantastic secondary characters, some of whom are more interesting and more memorable than series regulars in other shows! And the Dominion War was Star Trek’s first real foray into season-long serialised story arcs.

I watched DS9 during its original broadcast run here in the UK, following along from the very first episode to the series finale seven years later. This page is an archive of all of my posts about this wonderful series.
