Star Trek: Prodigy is a joint venture between CBS and kids’ broadcaster Nickelodeon. It’s the first Star Trek series to be specifically aimed at a younger audience – though the behind-the-scenes team insist there will be plenty for grown-ups to enjoy as well! Kate Mulgrew reprised her role as Captain Kathryn Janeway for the series.
Season 1 premiered on the 28th of October 2021, and a second season has already been confirmed. Episodes seem to be airing sporadically on Paramount+, but sadly there hasn’t yet been an international release. When there is, I’ll have more to say about the series.

Captain Janeway is back!
“Captain Janeway was one of many characters who could’ve potentially appeared in Star Trek: Picard or future productions set in or around the dawn of the 25th Century. The real surprise was that she’s going to be reprising the role for the upcoming animated series Star Trek: Prodigy…”
Comic-Con @Home – my thoughts on the Star Trek panel
