The Original Series

(And The Animated Series)

The show that started it all!

Star Trek – retroactively subtitled The Original Series – aired from 1966 to 1969 in the United States, with an additional unaired pilot episode produced in 1965. During the show’s second season, a letter-writing campaign from the brand-new Trekkie community managed to secure the show a third and final season. Star Trek would be revived a few years later for two animated seasons, before going on to become a cinematic franchise, with six films being released between 1979 and 1991.

This page is an archive of all of my posts about The Original Series, The Animated Series, and those first six Star Trek films. There may also be connections with some of the franchise’s modern shows.
